The Iphone 5 a giant step for mobile kind or just another gimmick from Apple?

Well hello y’all my first post is here and what better to christen it with is a review of the new Iphone 5…….

So is the Iphone 5 an amazing feet of pure technological wonder that will storm the beaches of your local shops? will it destroy Nokia, HTC, Sony and Samsung away? well yes and maybe no. As we all know phones is like music or films its a matter of taste. You have your Apple lovers and your Apple haters and your Android lovers and Android haters.

Me myself i cannot stand Android. So pretty much an Apple guy; though i am sliding on to like the new Windows phone format live tiles yay.

OK well Iphone 5… So who remembers the early pictures of what an Iphone 5 supposedly looked like? some where funny and some where yeah right (But would look cool)

So The Iphone 5 retains the shape of its earlier siblings. But it’s been on a diet and grown an inch or so. The Iphone 5 feels lighter to hold; with a 4 Inch display. (so videos will be 16:9 no more annoying black bits at the top or bottom) The speakers have been improved. faster boot up. And being a 4G phone (well obviously this all depends on whatever carrier you have) (sorry Network sounded a bit American their didn’t I) (from south west London Guv’nor)

The ear piece socket is now at the bottom rather than the top (rather like the Ipod touch) some may like that some may not. With the new earphones no sorry their now called Earpods. very funky. and fit in the ear nicely. The Iphone 5 comes with the new IOS6 operating system; which to a lot of the eager beavers that where yearning for the phone to come out and the new IOS to be unleashed. may come dissapointed.  As the IOS 6 does lack the other IOS releases with huge improvements. like the Iphone 4S came out with it had siri. But the IOS 6 comes with a new Maps havent tested it has been some upset over this. But me personally never really used Maps so to me this doesnt bother me.

Still the usual Notification bar at the top (pull it down yada yada yada) but thought maybe Apple may take a leaf from windows live tiles. But that would be asking too much i suppose. with the Iphone sporting a new A6 chip. the phone is much faster. No dropped calls; and call clarity is very good. no problems with the Antenna. and even the Wi-Fi connection is better with the bigger bandwidth. the camera like the 4S is an 8 megapixel camera (though with the new Sony Xperia U which is 13 megapixels) shame Apple didnt try harder with the camera. but again this doesnt bother me as i used my Nikon to take proper pictures. so 8 megapixel’s isnt a bad camera to have. plus shoots in high definition. And wait for it….. finally facetime can be done on normal connection not just over wi-fi. and wait theirs more. the front camera has been upscaled to 720pp.  so a better picture quality when facetiming (or video calling) (face-timing kinda sounds hippy like or something you hear on a children s programme) ah yes the lightening port which is their new thingey. which is nice and small; so no more fluff from your pocket gets lodged at the bottom of the port 🙂 again this has angered a few; as will have to fork out £25 for an adapter if you wanna use any old accessories. again this doesnt bother me much. ok granted can’t use it on my dock; but I’ve got my Iphone 4 which i use for music so not a problem for me. But considering how much the phone would cost if brought handset only and how much Apple will make on this phone. Giving an adapter with the phone would be a nice idea. But hey money talks. just wish it talked our language. Apple have said that the battery life will be an improvement. i haven’t really tested it so can’t really say. some people have reported it has. other’s have said its the same. Siri has had an upgrade to. Sounds less robotic and can now tell you footballing scores yay. But will need to be careful of that as if it tells me Arsenal have lost the phone may end up broken on the floor with my violent rage….

and a welcomed idea is integrating Facebook as well like in earlier IOS which incorporated Twitter which surprised me as thought Facebook was more popular than Twitter. but now you can snap pics and share on both without opening the apps. Of course with the screen size and it being new. Not all Apps will support the screen size. but this will most surely be rectified soon. As will i’m sure the Maps.

Passbook is a strange idea  the new app — which collects the QR codes and vital info from plane tickets, Starbucks cards, movie tickets, etc. and puts them in one place novel but dont think its anything special quite yet.

So in closing:

if you have an old Iphone, 3G, 3GS, 4 then yes def worth upgrading, if you have a 4S then i suppose if you like the look of it. of course if you can get a free upgrade then cool. I like the phone very nice feel to it. just paying £500 up for a phone; but i have the Iphone 4 so its more of an upgrade for me. will be nice to finally have Siri as it will be nice to have someone to talk to when i’m feeling lonely. and when my sisters ignore my calls and texts. so a very nice phone. hopefully this review has been interesting ok probably not your most detailed one. but will be doing a second part when ive used the phone more. but thanks for reading. feel free to e-mail me pointers banter but please no rude ones easily offended and do  tend to cry:
